Hull City 1-1 Brentford: Ouattara rescues point as unbeaten run continue

Hull City and Brentford played out a 1-1 draw at the MKM Stadium on Sunday afternoon, extending their respective unbeaten home and away records in the Premier League.
Oli McBurnie opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 24th minute, netting his first league goal of the season after Tim Iroegbunam was brought down inside the area.
However, Dango Ouattara equalised midway through the second half to earn Keith Andrews's side a point, with both teams missing opportunities to claim victory in an evenly contested encounter.
Brentford almost made the perfect start when Sepp van den Berg directed a close-range header towards goal inside the opening minute, but Hull goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis was equal to his effort.
The visitors continued to threaten, with Aaron Hickey forcing another save from Tzolakis, while Mohamed Belloumi fired a free-kick over the crossbar at the other end.
Hull eventually broke the deadlock when Hickey bundled Iroegbunam over inside the penalty area, leaving McBurnie to calmly dispatch his spot kick into the bottom-right corner despite Caoimhin Kelleher diving the correct way.
Sergej Jakirovic's side grew in confidence after taking the lead, with Semi Ajayi producing an impressive run forward before delivering a dangerous cross that Kristoffer Ajer cleared.
The Tigers were then denied a second penalty when Van den Berg challenged Regan Slater inside the area, although the referee's original decision was upheld following a VAR review.
Brentford pushed for an equaliser before the interval, but Kevin Schade saw a promising close-range effort inadvertently blocked by teammate Igor Thiago.
The Bees eventually found their breakthrough in the 63rd minute when Hull failed to clear a delivery from the right, allowing Thiago to poke the ball towards Ouattara, who finished from close range.
The equaliser came shortly after another controversial penalty appeal for Hull, with Belloumi going down following a challenge from Mamadou Sangare, but VAR once again supported the referee's decision.
Hull nearly regained their advantage in the 72nd minute when substitute Mohamed-Ali Cho fired an effort through Van den Berg's legs, only for Kelleher to produce an outstanding reaction save.
Brentford also threatened to snatch a late winner, but substitute Dango Anthony dragged his effort narrowly wide as neither side could find a decisive breakthrough.
Despite managing just two shots on target compared with the visitors' six, Hull maintained their unbeaten home record, while Brentford extended their winless away run despite remaining unbeaten on their travels this season.
The Tigers will now turn their attention to their upcoming home fixture against Ipswich Town on October 31, hoping to rediscover their winning touch after another frustrating afternoon.
Meanwhile, Brentford remain sixth in the Premier League table and will turn their attention to an EFL Cup clash against Sunderland, as Andrews's side look to build on their resilient away performance.
