Bournemouth 3-0 Aston Villa; Cherries continue remarkable run with another clean sheet

Bournemouth continued their remarkable run of form with a convincing 3-0 victory over Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup fourth round, booking their place in the quarter-finals at the Vitality Stadium.
The Cherries took an early lead through Amine Adli before Lewis Cook doubled their advantage shortly after half-time, with Álvaro Rodríguez completing the scoring in the 69th minute.
The result marks Bournemouth’s fifth consecutive win across all competitions and their fourth 3-0 victory in that sequence, underlining the attacking threat and defensive resilience that have made them one of the sides to watch.
Bournemouth’s recent run has seen them defeat Sturm Graz, Sunderland, AC Milan and Manchester United before overcoming Villa, with the Cherries scoring three goals without reply against three of those opponents.
Their latest clean sheet further emphasises their impressive momentum heading into the next round.
The hosts made a fast start and were rewarded in the seventh minute. Marcus Tavernier played a clever pass through to Pablo Soler on the left, and the winger brought the ball under control before delivering a dangerous cross into the penalty area.
Adli timed his run perfectly to finish from close range and give Bournemouth the lead.

Villa struggled to contain Bournemouth’s movement in the opening stages, although the visitors threatened to respond.
Rayan Gannon-Doak came close to doubling the advantage in the 16th minute, shifting the ball onto his right foot before unleashing a powerful effort that Marco Bizot tipped over the crossbar.
Tavernier also went close before half-time, while Villa had an opportunity to level when Leon Goretzka headed over from a corner in stoppage time.
Despite the chances at both ends, Bournemouth went into the break with a deserved one-goal advantage.
The hosts strengthened their grip on the tie six minutes after the restart.
Following a save from Bizot to deny Sánchez, Bournemouth worked the resulting corner into the box, where Cook’s delivery somehow beat the Villa goalkeeper at his near post to make it 2-0.
Villa now faced an uphill battle, and Rodríguez effectively ended their hopes of a comeback in the 69th minute.
After receiving a pass from Tyler Adams, the striker took two touches to create space before drilling a low finish into the bottom corner.
The visitors continued to search for a consolation goal, with Alysson heading narrowly wide in the 85th minute after a promising move involving Alejandro Garnacho and João Gomes, but Bournemouth comfortably saw out the remainder of the contest.
The victory sends Bournemouth into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, with the draw set to follow the conclusion of the Liverpool-Chelsea tie.
The Cherries will now look to carry their outstanding form into Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Leeds United.
Bournemouth entered the match 13th in the Premier League table, while Aston Villa sat ninth.
Although the cup result does not directly affect their league positions, it gives Bournemouth further confidence as they pursue progress on multiple fronts.
For Villa, the defeat ends an eight-game unbeaten run and leaves them needing a response when they host Fulham at the weekend.
With four recent 3-0 victories and five consecutive wins overall, Bournemouth are building serious momentum at a crucial stage of the season.
