Slavia Praha vs Arsenal; Team news, predictions and line ups

Slavia Prague welcome Arsenal at the Fortuna Arena on Wednesday evening, as the two tops-of-table in their respective domestic leagues look to gain three crucial points.
Whilst Slavia Prague have been unable to prevail in the teams’ last three meetings, Mikel Arteta praised Slavia’s head coach Trpisovsksy, saying: “he’s ahead of me because he’s been here for 10 years…it is going to be a difficult one”.
For Arsenal, who have gone unbeaten in Champions League league phase matches since December 2024, a three point win would see them comfortably placed in play-off territory.
Whilst Slavia Prague, currently 32nd in Champions League, will be looking to secure their first international win of the season.
However, Slavia Prague is not to be underestimated.
Just last week, Trpisovsksy’s side put on a dominant 5-0 performance against Jablonec - building upon their impressive domestic league opening.
Team News:
Arsenal fans will be delighted to hear William Saliba has returned to full training, and is available for his first game since the World Cup in July.
After sitting out of Sunday’s Premier League game against Liverpool due to a three-game red card suspension, 16 year old Max Dowman is available for selection in the UEFA competition.
Saka’s ongoing injury keeps him out of contention for the game, but an otherwise healthy forward roster provides Arteta with an abundance of choice.
In other positive news for the Gunners fans William Saliba is back in training and on grass which will provide competition for the in form Ezri Konsa.
For Slavia Prague, following an internal club disciplinary, Thomas Chorny will not be a part of the squad on Wednesday.
In promising news, Markovic - the team’s first-choice goalkeeper - is eligible for play once again, and will attempt to keep a clean sheet, to maintain the team’s table position at a minimum.
Previous Meetings:
When Slavia and Arsenal met last - a year ago to the day - it was Bukayo Saka and Mikel Merino responsible for the 3-0 scoreline, with Merino netting two second-half goals.
Whilst Saka won’t make Wednesday’s squad, Arsenal can move forwards relatively stress-free due to their squad-depth.
