Premier League round-up Game week 5; City overtake the Gunners for top spot.

Another thrilling weekend in the Premier League as the Champions were pecked by

the Seagulls, City win a thriller to go clear at the top, and United drop points again whilst Tottenham lay miserably at the bottom of the table!

Brentford 3-0 Chelsea

Brentford demolished Chelsea in the second half, with Jaidon Anthony finally

breaking the deadlock in the 61st minute before Igor Thiago doubled the lead. 

Fabio Carvalho then added a third in stoppage time to complete a brilliant night for the

Bees, making it back-to-back games since his long-term injury.

Chelsea looked short of ideas for large parts of the game and now have serious

questions to answer defensively. Brentford, meanwhile, remain unbeaten and are

looking like one of the surprise packages of the season.

Tottenham 2-3 Aston Villa

Villa snatched the lead just before half-time through Janiz Manzambi after soaking

up a lot of pressure from Spurs in the first half.

And then things just went worse for De Zerbi’s side as Nicholas Jackson scored his first league goal for his new side before Buendia made it three with a wonder strike.

Spurs eventually found hope through Conor Gallagher and a very late Paul van Hecke goal, but it was too little, too Late.

Another miserable afternoon for Tottenham, who remain without a league win and are now bottom of the table.

Unai Emery finally has their first victory of the season and will be hoping to build on that after the international break.

Brighton 3-0 Arsenal

Brighton produced one of the shocks of the weekend, cruising past Arsenal 3-0.

Pascal Grob and Charalampos Kostoulas opened the scoring with two wonder

strikes in the first half! 

Chema Andrés added from a corner in the second half, with Arsenal completely unable to respond.

It's Arteta’s first defeat of the season and a huge statement from Brighton, who

celebrated their 125th anniversary in style.

Kostoulas was particularly impressive and looks like another exciting young player to watch.

Everton 1-0 Ipswich

Thierno Barry's 11th-minute goal was enough to give Everton all three points in a

scrappy game at Goodison Park. Ipswich couldn't find a response despite having

Chances.

Everton continue their excellent start and move up the table, while Ipswich will be

frustrated after having a goal ruled out and later seeing Abdul Fatawu sent off.

Newcastle 2-1 Hull

Newcastle flew out of the blocks with Joe Willock and Lewis Hall scoring inside the

opening seven minutes. Hull pulled one back through Mohammed Ali Cho but

Newcastle managed to hold on despite a nervy finish.

The Magpies made life much harder than it needed to be after such a brilliant start,

but Matthias Jaissle will take the three points. 

Hull pushed right until the end and probably deserved more from the second half - the Tigers first loss after a brilliant

start to the season.

Nottingham Forest 0-1 Coventry

Coventry have made history with their first Premier League win in 25 years, beating

Forest 1-0 thanks to Jay Dasilva's second-half strike.

Forest thought they'd found an equaliser through Igor Jesus, but VAR ruled it out as

he committed a foul in the build-up to the goal, leaving Coventry to celebrate a

massive three points. 

A brilliant result for Frank Lampard and a day their fans won't forget for a long time.

Bournemouth 0-1 Liverpool

Well, this wasn't a sight for sore eyes. 

A pretty dull game looked destined for a goalless draw until Alexander Isak popped up in the 57th minute to give Liverpool the win. 

Cody Gakpo doing some excellent work down that right-hand side to put in the

cross for Isak.

Isak now has four goals this season and is already becoming a huge part of

Liverpool's attack. 

Another clean sheet for the Reds too, with new centre-back Jérémy Jacquet once again impressing.

Smiles all around Iraola as he wins on his return to the Vitality Stadium.

Leeds 0-0 Crystal Palace

Not much to say about this one.

Both sides had chances but neither could find the breakthrough, with James Trafford once again impressing in goal for Leeds.

Leeds remain unbeaten after five games, while Palace will probably feel they should

have taken more from the game.

Manchester City 5-3 Sunderland

What a game this was!

City went ahead through Enzo Fernández with his first goal for his new club from a smart free-kick.

Sunderland hit back instantly through Brobbey before Cherki regained the lead and then again Brobbey equalised!

Antoine Semenyo scored twice for City before Brobbey completed his hat-trick and then Erling

Haaland finally killed the game off at 5-3.

City remain perfect, but there are definitely cracks at the back.

Brobbey's hat-trick was outstanding and Sunderland deserve huge credit for making this such a contest.

Haaland's late goal also means he's now scored against every Premier League club

he's faced - an incredible feat.

Fulham 1-1 Manchester United

United looked set for another defeat after a Lisandro Martínez own goal put Fulham

ahead. 

They struggled to create much despite having plenty of the ball.

Matheus Cunha rescued a point with a deflected 89th-minute equaliser, sparing

United another embarrassing result. 

Fulham will be gutted after coming so close to holding on, while United still have plenty to improve on.
