Manchester United 0-3 Bournemouth: Visitors Secure Convincing Win as United’s Premier League Struggles Continue

Bournemouth made it back-to-back Premier League wins with a comprehensive victory over a struggling Manchester United side, who were without their first-choice captain Bruno Fernandes in the Starting XI.
Two first-half goals in quick succession followed by a sublime finish from Evanilson was enough to uphold their unbeaten form over their opponents, with their last league defeat against them dating back to May 2023.
It was the visitors who started on the front foot and caused trouble to United’s backline from the offset, with their early corner headed wide of the post by Rayan.
Youri Tielemans was dispossessed by Lewis Cook in midfield as The Cherries continued their attacking dominance.
United captain Harry Maguire did well to retreat into the backline and deny Rayan’s effort down the right-hand side, with the following corner collected by Senne Lammens.
A slightly promising chance fell to the home side when the delivery of Diogo Dalot reached the area and required the punched save of Djordje Petrovic to keep out.
Leny Yoro was then called into action to clear an inviting cross from Rayan at the other end of the pitch to keep the scores level.
Bournemouth continued to produce dangerous displays against United’s defence. The darting run of Marcus Tavernier followed with his delivery picked out Evanilson in the centre of the box, but made its way through his feet.
Mason Mount played a pass out wide to release Dalot but his effort was struck over the bar before further chances fell to the visitors.
A well-weighted delivery was whipped into the area by Justin Kluivert and was met by a header from Evanilson, which went wide.
37 minutes had passed until The Cherries broke the deadlock.
Bournemouth were awarded a free kick from a two footed challenge by Ayden Heaven which evaded Evanilson down the left.
The delivery from Kluivert to the back post found Rayan, whose left footed shot slotted into the near post to open his Premier League scoring account for this season.
Bryan Mbeumo was played through centrally by Mount but his effort across goal forced a punched save from Petrovic to deny before Bournemouth handled the following corner.
Tavernier secured a goal second before the break as Adrien Truffert capitalised from the slip of Yoro down left flank and placed his delivery to Tavernier who made no mistake when tapping home from close range.
On the stroke of half time, United had an appeal for a penalty dismissed after a soft collision between Amad Diallo and Antonio Silva.
Evanilson momentarily made matters worse as the second half commenced as his sliding central effort found the net. But United were offered a lifeline after it was ruled out for offside.
A flurry of chances then came United’s way. Substitute Matheus Cunha looked to half the deficit though his effort from distance was struck over the far goal corner, before Mbuemo struck the rebound off Dalot and over the bar.
Rayan looked to get his second of the afternoon as he made his way beyond Carlos Baleba and Lisandro Martinez, but struck his effort wide of the right post.
The visitors extended their lead in the 71th minute, when Tyler Adams recovered a loose ball in the centre of midfield and floated a delivery into the path of Evanilson who fired into the top corner.
The victory sends Bournemouth up to 13th in the league and will add further confidence as they host Aston Villa in the EFL Cup on Wednesday. For United, they drop to 16th and sit just one point above the relegation zone.
