Brighton vs Leeds: Which team will maintain their positive start to the season?

After a bright start for both Brighton and Leeds, Saturdays match up is well poised to be a neutral's dream showing between two impressive sides.

Despite conceding four goals themselves, the Seagulls showed they had aspirations of European football at the end of this year with another positive display at Stamford Bridge against a side tipped to take the title race well into the new year. 

Daniel Farke’s Whites have begun the campaign one point better off than Saturday's opponents. 

So far, recording a good win away at Nottingham Forest on opening day followed by a late equaliser at Elland Road by Dominic Calvert-Lewin against Brentford, has got many devout Leeds fans excited for the year to come. 

The attacking acquisition of Jean-Matteo Bahoya on deadline day has added to the excitement around the fanbase ahead of this weekend's tough trip down to the South coast.

Daniel Farke revealed he is pleased with the signing of Bahoya and said:"He is an exciting young prospect".

Whilst Brighton may have ended the window as one of the least active teams in terms of

business, the seamless way Makick Yalcouye has stepped into Carlos Baleba’s place will feel like a great bit of business.

Leeds will feel similarly about their window; retaining the services of Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be a huge relief. 

This, on top of the additions of Harry Wilson from Fulham on a free transfer and James Trafford from Manchester City, with Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo, has left the Whites in a strong position. 

Saturday’s hosts are unbeaten in their last 10 league games against Leeds at the Amex with Leeds playing the most games without winning at the Amex than any other stadium they’ve played at in Premier League history. 

Leeds have won both their away games in all competitions this season, so they will be hoping that the above statistic will change after this weekend's matchup. 

Availability:

Mats Wieffer, Jack Hinshelwood, Liverpool-linked Yankuba Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma, Stefanos Tzimas, and Evan Ferguson are all set to be sidelined this weekend. 

However, Yasin Ayari and Georginio Rutter are both believed to be back in contention for a space in the squad. 

For Leeds, Farke has confirmed Joe Rodon to be out for eight to ten weeks with a “serious hamstring injury”. 

Mateo Joseph is also out, but Gabriel Gudmundsson could make an appearance on the bench for the Whites following his recovery from injury.
