Wolves have endured a nightmare Premier League campaign this season. Vítor Pereira was sacked in November following a winless start, with Rob Edwards brought in shortly afterwards, though with little success.

In truth, much of the damage had already been done during the summer transfer window. The departures of key players such as Rayan Aït-Nouri to Manchester City and Matheus Cunha to Manchester United left the squad lacking genuine quality.

Many Wolves supporters remain deeply frustrated with the club’s ownership group, Fosun International. Years of stagnation and poor planning have contributed to a gradual decline.

After eight years in the Premier League, Wolves now face the prospect of rebuilding in the Championship. However, an immediate return to the top flight is far from guaranteed, and uncertainty also remains over whether Rob Edwards will stay in charge beyond this season.

Fulham Still Chasing Europe

Fulham’s hopes of European football remain mathematically alive.

Marco Silva’s side sit five points behind Brighton & Hove Albion in seventh place, although those ambitions are beginning to fade after just one win in their last five Premier League games.

With an away trip to bottom-side Wolves followed by a home clash against an inconsistent Newcastle United side, Fulham will still believe they can finish the season strongly and secure a top-half finish.

Marco Silva has once again overseen a solid Premier League campaign, despite disappointment in the FA Cup where Fulham were knocked out by Championship side Southampton in the quarter-finals.

Wolves’ home form briefly improved earlier in the spring, with notable results against Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal.

However, since then, relegation has increasingly felt inevitable, and the club are now winless in seven matches since their 3-2 victory over Liverpool.

In their most recent home fixture, Wolves narrowly lost 1-0 to relegation-threatened Tottenham Hotspur.

Rob Edwards will hope to end the season with some positivity.

Fulham, meanwhile, have struggled away from Craven Cottage this season. The London side have collected just 16 away points and scored only 16 goals on the road a record only three Premier League sides have performed worse than.

On paper, Fulham appear to have more quality and motivation heading into this fixture.

However, recent form suggests this may not be a high-scoring encounter, with a tight and cagey contest expected.

Harry Wilson remains Fulham’s biggest attacking threat, while Wolves will likely aim to frustrate their opponents and make the most of set-piece opportunities.

Team News

Wolves goalkeeper José Sá remains a doubt after recent fitness concerns.

Backup goalkeeper Daniel Bentley could start for the second consecutive match after featuring in the 3-0 defeat away to Brighton.

Meanwhile, fellow goalkeeper Sam Johnstone continues to recover from a shoulder injury.

Aside from the goalkeeping situation, Wolves are expected to have close to a full-strength squad available.

For Fulham, defender Joachim Andersen remains unavailable following his dismissal against Bournemouth.

Midfielders Alex Iwobi and Ryan Sessegnon will both face late fitness tests ahead of Sunday’s match.
