This Saturday evening promises an exciting Premier League clash as West Ham take on Tottenham Hotspur at the London Stadium on 13th September. Both teams will be eyeing all three points, especially with the last three meetings between them at this ground ending in 1-1 draws.

Hammers fans will be expecting a strong showing, especially given West Ham’s poor recent Premier League record against Spurs. The Irons have only managed one win – a 2-1 away victory – in their last seven meetings with Tottenham, alongside three draws and three defeats.

West Ham are coming into the match on a high after a commanding 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on 31st August. That result ended a difficult run, which included back-to-back defeats against Sunderland (3-0) and Chelsea (5-1), as well as a loss to Wolves in the EFL Cup. Despite those setbacks, the Forest win brought back some belief, and West Ham will be hoping to build on that momentum. Notably, they’ve only managed to win back-to-back games once since David Moyes’ departure in February.

West Ham registered eight shots on target in their last game. For context, they had been averaging just 3.4 shots on target per game in their first 20 league matches – highlighting the significant improvement.

Tottenham, meanwhile, sit fourth in the table and are looking to bounce back after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth. Spurs had previously recorded impressive victories over Burnley (3-0) and Manchester City (2-0). Historically, however, they have struggled in London derbies – losing 10 of their last 16, with just three wins and three draws. They’ve also only kept one clean sheet in their last 21 derby matches.

The match marks Tottenham’s first since the shock departure of long-time executive chairman Daniel Levy. His final game in charge saw Spurs fall to that Bournemouth defeat at home – a disappointing end to his tenure.

Latest News

In a surprising move, West Ham United have banned half-and-half scarves ahead of this game. The club cites “increased security activity” and aims to maintain fan discipline and matchday safety. Security staff will confiscate half-and-half scarves and similar items upon entry — these will not be returned after the game.
