Great performance by Tottenham. They looked in control and comfortable from minute one right through to the end of the match. This result will give Spurs a big boost as they climb up the table to eighth as it stands. Tottenham were aggressive, moved the ball with precision, and played with intensity from the start. Thomas Frank should be proud of his team’s performance. However, Brentford looked slow and sloppy throughout the match and deserved to lose.

Tottenham started the game well with the right intensity, controlling possession. They created five chances in the first half compared to Brentford’s one.

Richarlison opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a left-footed strike from the centre of the box after great work from Xavi Simons, who provided the assist.

Xavi Simons then scored in the 43rd minute from the centre of the box to give Tottenham a 2–0 lead heading into half-time.

In the second half, Tottenham created nine chances, while Brentford produced only three, showing how much they struggled in the final third and why they were unable to score.

Four yellow cards were shown in the second half — two for each team:

  • Pedro Porro (Tottenham) – 47th minute

  • K. Schade (Brentford) – 60th minute

  • Y. Yarmoliuk (Brentford) – 72nd minute

  • Archie Gray (Tottenham) – 77th minute

Standout Performer

Xavi Simons – Man of the Match.

His best performance in a Tottenham shirt to date. He provided an assist, scored, and could have added more goals. A solid 8/10 performance from the Dutch youngster.

This victory could be a turning point for Tottenham, giving them a platform to climb up the table to eighth place and push toward the Champions League spots.

For Brentford, this loss will be disappointing, as they lose ground on their direct rivals and will need to respond quickly.
