Nottingham Forest continued their impressive recent league and home form with a commanding 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ibrahim Sangaré were outstanding for the hosts, while Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario endured a nightmare afternoon.

Out of possession, Forest typically defended in a narrow 4-4-2 mid-block, pressing aggressively at key moments to win the ball high up the pitch. This approach proved decisive for the opening goal. Archie Gray was dispossessed by Sangaré on the edge of his own box after receiving a pass from Vicario, allowing Sangaré to square the ball for Hudson-Odoi, who calmly tucked it into the net.

Forest doubled their lead early in the second half in fortuitous fashion. Hudson-Odoi’s cross from the left flank looped over Vicario and dropped into the far corner, leaving the goalkeeper helpless once again. Sangaré capped off a superb individual performance by adding a goal to his two earlier assists. His first-time strike from distance curled away from Vicario, struck the post, and nestled into the far corner.

Tottenham failed to pose any sustained threat throughout the contest, registering just 0.37 expected goals across the 90 minutes.

Forest, meanwhile, finished with an xG of 1.91, underlining the efficiency of their attacking play despite two goals coming from spectacular efforts.

Forest climb to 16th in the table, moving five points clear of the relegation zone and closing the gap to Spurs, who sit 11th, to just four points. It was a result few expected before kick-off, but Forest fully deserved all three points with a disciplined and ruthless display.

Next up, Forest travel to London to face Fulham, while Tottenham host reigning champions Liverpool at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. After a brief spell of optimism, this heavy defeat brings renewed pressure on Thomas Frank, with concerns growing over results, performances, and the patience of both supporters and the board.
