Arsenal produced a dominant display at Elland Road, sweeping aside Leeds United with a convincing 4–0 victory to move seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

The match began at a high tempo, with both sides enjoying early spells of possession, but Arsenal gradually imposed themselves as the first half progressed. Leeds were pinned deep for long periods, struggling to escape sustained pressure from Mikel Arteta’s side, who lined up in a 4-4-2 system featuring Viktor Gyökeres and Kai Havertz as a striking partnership.

The breakthrough arrived in the 27th minute following a recycled corner.

Noni Madueke shifted onto his left foot and delivered a superb cross, which Martín Zubimendi glanced cleverly beyond Karl Darlow with a well-timed header, once again highlighting his aerial threat in decisive moments.

Arsenal doubled their advantage before the interval, again from a set-piece situation. Madueke whipped in a dangerous corner under the crossbar and Darlow, under pressure, could only punch the ball into his own net in the 38th minute. As Arsenal took full control, the once hostile Elland Road atmosphere was gradually silenced.

Drafted into the starting XI after Bukayo Saka was injured during the warm-up, Madueke delivered an outstanding first-half performance, directly contributing to both goals and emerging as Arsenal’s standout player.

Leeds began the second half with renewed urgency, aware that the contest was still salvageable at 2–0, but Arsenal handled the pressure calmly. Tactical adjustments and intelligent substitutions helped the visitors regain control of proceedings.

Gyökeres extended the lead with his third goal in four starts.

Excellent work from Gabriel Martinelli on the right flank saw him beat his marker and deliver a dangerous cross, which Gyökeres met at the back post, getting in front of his defender to volley past Darlow.

With the game settled, Arteta introduced Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Jesus, underlining the depth available to the league leaders. Jesus made an immediate impact, receiving a short pass from Martin Ødegaard, holding off his marker and calmly guiding his finish inside the right-hand post to complete the scoring.

Arsenal closed out the match with composure and authority, delivering a professional and ruthless response that strengthens their grip on the title race. Leeds, meanwhile, remain just three points above the relegation zone, with pressure mounting as the season reaches its decisive phase.
