Goalkeeper – Matz Sels (£5m) Nottingham Forest

After letting in goals in the first two gameweeks, the Belgian will be hoping to grab his first clean sheet of the season against West Ham. Sels was solid at home last year, helping his team keep eight clean sheets, which was the joint highest.
Defence – Marc Cucurella (£6.1m) Chelsea

Chelsea’s left-back looks like a strong option when Fulham visit Stamford Bridge this Saturday lunchtime. Cucurella has started the season brightly, collecting 13 points across the opening two gameweeks with contributions at both ends of the pitch: an assist, a clean sheet, and bonus points to round things off.
Defence – James Tarkowski (£5.5m) Everton

The Everton centre-back recorded 8 points last week when Everton were victorious in their first ever home game at their new stadium. Tarkowski helped his team to a clean sheet and the player of the match award.
Defence – Jurrien Timber (£5.6m) Arsenal

The Dutch full-back racked up a whopping 24 points last week, as he recorded 2 goals and an assist in the Gunners’ 5-0 home win. Timber heads to Anfield on Sunday looking to keep up his great start to the season.
Midfield – Morgan Gibbs-White (£7.5m) Nottingham Forest

Gibbs-White could be a sneaky pick this week. Owned by only five per cent of managers, he faces a West Ham team that’s leaked eight goals in just two matches. Last season at home, he was Forest’s top creator with seven assists and still chipped in with plenty of goal threat, firing 32 shots with 17 being inside the box.
Midfield – Jack Grealish (£6.5m) Everton

Grealish made his home debut last week, helping Everton to a win with an assist. The Man City loanee will be eager to impress Thomas Tuchel now he has regular minutes in a World Cup–deciding year. The winger racked up 11 points in gameweek 2.
Midfield – Ismaila Sarr (£6.5m) Crystal Palace

Sarr has been in sensational form this season, scoring in the Community Shield victory over Liverpool and scoring again last week in Palace’s draw at home to Forest. At just £6.5m he’s a steal, who will guarantee high points this season, whoever the opposition.
Midfield – Cody Gakpo (£7.6m) Liverpool

The Dutch winger has looked sharp this season and looks set to have a big campaign ahead. With Luis Diaz gone, he is a guaranteed starter on the left-hand side for Liverpool. He hit 10 points in gameweek 2 and will be looking to add to those points as they face Arsenal at Anfield this Sunday.
Striker – Joao Pedro (£7.6m) Chelsea

Joao Pedro went big last week: a goal, two assists, and 15 points away at West Ham showed exactly why he’s the most popular pick in FPL this season. If Palmer doesn’t recover in time, the Brazilian might even get a shot at penalties too as Chelsea face Fulham in the west London derby.
Striker – Erling Haaland (£14.1m) Man City

Brighton just can’t keep Haaland quiet. The City striker has delivered in all five of his games against them, racking up five goals and an assist. He also found the net in both clashes last season. The big fee seems to guarantee points, which means you may have to shuffle around a few players just to have the Norwegian in your team.
Striker – Ollie Watkins (£9m) Aston Villa

The England international has yet to score and will be looking to kick-start his season when Villa face Palace at home in the final game of the weekend. Villa are also winless this season, looking for their first victory. A big chance this weekend to end that tough start to the campaign.
