Bodo/Glimt and Lille played out a very dull affair, drawing 0–0 as Lille picked up their first point of their Champions League campaign.

In a very lacklustre game of football, Davide Ancelotti may come out of that game thinking they should've had more, with the French side dominating the majority of the game up until the hour mark.

Bodo/Glimt didn’t have a shot on goal until the 61st minute, with both teams lacking a lot of creativity, but the Norwegians did look threatening in the closing stages of the game.

But with no massive opportunities or major talking points, the game fizzled out into a goalless draw, which puts both teams in a difficult position, with Lille in massive danger now of not qualifying at all with their one point from four.

Bodo/Glimt end the night 23rd on four points from four UCL games, but will most likely drop out of the qualification places after the games tomorrow night.

However, with another home game in the Champions League next matchday against LASK, there’s a real opportunity for the Norwegians to climb positions in the league phase and challenge for those qualification places.

The first half had a scarcity of moments, to say the least, as both sides failed to produce any real chances of note.

It was the away side that did dominate, though, and started on the front food, and had all three of the shots that were attempted by both teams in the half.

Bodo/Glimt were struggling to get a grip of the game, which is unlike them on their home turf, having no shots and just 42% of the ball in the first period.

Davide Ancelotti’s side weren’t much better, though, with Lille also very cautious throughout the first 45 minutes.

The French side’s best first half chance came via Dilane Bakwa, after he cut onto his left inside the box and struck a low shot, but his effort was easily saved by Nikita Haikin in goal.

The second half was much more action-packed, with Lille the more threatening again, but still couldn’t generate any decent shots on target to test the keeper.

It took until the hour mark for Bodo’s first effort of the night, and it did cause some issues for Berke Ozer in the Lille goal.

Jens Petter Hauge did brilliantly down the left-hand side, getting past Nathan Ngoy inside the area and cutting the ball back to Sondre Brunstad Fet, but the Norwegian midfielder couldn’t squeeze the ball past Ozer from close range.

The hosts finally started to get a hold of the game from then on, with both sides pushing for an opener, but it was the home side that looked the most likely to break the deadlock.

A free header inside the six-yard box for Ole Blomberg was Bodo’s biggest chance with 10 minutes to go, but his effort went straight at the keeper.

The game petered out in the end, with both teams lacking any cutting edge and creativity throughout the whole 90 minutes, as the game ended goalless in a very lacklustre game of football.

For Bodo/Glimt, the point keeps them in the playoff places in the Champions League league phase, but not by much, and will almost certainly drop out by the end of tomorrow’s games.

The hosts will look at that as a missed opportunity against a Lille side who have struggled in this competition immensely this season, but Ancelotti’s side have now picked up their first point this UCL campaign, climbing one place into 34th.
