Premier League leaders Arsenal travel to the Amex Stadium this evening for a 19:30 kick-off as the Gunners continue their pursuit of a first league title in 22 years. Meanwhile, Brighton are targeting a late push for European qualification.

Despite a poor run of form earlier in the campaign, Fabian Hürzeler’s side have begun to steady the ship. The Seagulls arrive on the back of consecutive Premier League victories over Brentford and Nottingham Forest a welcome turnaround after managing just one win in 13 league matches stretching back to early December.

The pressure has eased slightly, with Brighton sitting 11th in the table and just six points off seventh place, which could offer a route into the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Mikel Arteta’s side, meanwhile, edged past Chelsea in their latest match thanks to two set-piece goals from William Saliba and Jurrien Timber, both coming from corners, as Arsenal restored their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners have now scored 16 goals from corners this season, equalling the all-time Premier League record.

While performances have not always been fluent, Arsenal continue to grind out results. They are now unbeaten in six league matches since their defeat to Manchester United in January.

Gyökeres in Form Ahead of Amex Return

Viktor Gyökeres has hit strong form for Arsenal, contributing to six goals in his last seven away games in all competitions.

The striker is among the most in-form forwards of 2026 and will be eager to exploit Brighton’s high defensive line and potentially haunt his former club.

Head-to-Head Record

History at the Amex Stadium favours the visitors.

Brighton’s last home victory against Arsenal came in June 2020, a 2-1 win at the end of the COVID-affected season.

The two sides have already met twice this campaign, with Arsenal claiming a 2-1 Premier League victory and a 2-0 win in the Carabao Cup.

Team News

Arsenal have a few injury concerns ahead of the trip.

Martin Ødegaard, Declan Rice and Kai Havertz are all facing late fitness tests, while Mikel Merino and Ben White remain longer-term absentees. Max Dowman, however, is available for selection.

For Brighton, Fabian Hürzeler confirmed that Stefanos Tzimas and Adam Webster are both sidelined with injuries until later this year, while Yasin Ayari faces a late fitness test as he recovers from a shoulder injury.

What’s at Stake?

Arteta knows the challenge awaiting his side and the importance of maintaining momentum in the title run-in.

Arsenal’s quality makes them favourites, but they will need to be at their sharpest to overcome a Brighton side growing in confidence and pushing for European qualification.
