Arsenal host Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday as the Gunners look to respond after their midweek draw in Germany. Everton, meanwhile, arrive in north London hoping to strengthen their push for a European place.

Mikel Arteta’s side needed a late penalty from Kai Havertz in the 89th minute to salvage a draw against Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the second leg next week. Everton, on the other hand, head into the match following an impressive 2–0 victory over Burnley.

Arsenal Look to Maintain Momentum

The Gunners struggled against Leverkusen, with Robert Andrich opening the scoring from a set piece and putting the German side in a strong position to take a lead into the second leg.

However, substitute Noni Madueke shifted the momentum of the tie with his direct attacking play, using his one-on-one ability to win the penalty that Arsenal converted to level the score.

Despite that challenge in Europe, Arsenal head into Saturday’s clash in excellent form.

Arteta’s side are unbeaten in 12 matches across all competitions, with a Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on the horizon, a favourable FA Cup quarter-final tie against Southampton, and everything still to play for in the Champions League.

The Gunners also hold a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with eight games remaining, edging closer to ending their 22-year wait for a league title.

However, Everton represent another hurdle they must overcome.

Everton Target European Qualification

David Moyes’ side will arrive in north London determined to disrupt Arsenal’s title momentum, with their own sights set on European qualification next season.

Everton head into the match after an impressive 2–0 victory over Burnley, with goals from James Tarkowski and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sealing the win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium — their first home victory in seven matches.

The result moved Everton to within one point of Brentford in eighth place, while they now sit five points behind Liverpool and Chelsea in the race for European spots.

Match Prediction

This is a difficult game to call, with plenty at stake for both teams.

It is likely to be a tight, low-scoring contest, and as has often been the case this season, the result could be decided by the smallest of margins.

Arsenal have repeatedly capitalised on those moments this campaign.

Prediction: Arsenal 1–0 Everton
