Arsenal flew out of the blocks at the Emirates, launching wave after wave of early attacks and immediately forcing Tottenham onto the back foot. Spurs attempted to slow the tempo with lengthy set-piece routines and goal-kick pauses, but the hosts’ intensity was relentless.
The breakthrough came courtesy of a moment of brilliance from Mikel Merino, who clipped a magnificent ball over the top of Tottenham’s defence. Leandro Trossard brought it down with a delicate first touch, spun sharply, and slotted into the bottom corner to open the scoring.
Arsenal doubled their lead through Eberechi Eze, who finished clinically into the bottom corner after being teed up by Declan Rice.

Barely a minute into the second half, Eze struck again. Cutting onto his left foot on the edge of the box, he guided another precise finish into the bottom corner to put Arsenal 3-0 up and fully in control.
Tottenham pulled one back after Martin Zubimendi was dispossessed by João Palhinha. The loose ball fell kindly to Richarlison, who produced an audacious lob from the centre circle, catching David Raya off his line.
Any hopes of a comeback were extinguished in the 76th minute. Trossard drove to the byline and pulled the ball back for Eze, who curled a superb effort into the bottom-right corner to complete his hat-trick.
Eze was the star of the show, delivering a stunning three-goal performance against the club that had attempted to sign him earlier in the summer. Arsenal’s dominance in this fixture continues, and Arteta’s men now move six points clear at the top of the table.
Attention now turns to Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at the Emirates, while Tottenham travel to Paris to face PSG.
