Wolves 2-0 Everton: Wolves snatch easy win at home

Third round of Carabao Cup witnessed a dominating 2-0 win for the wolves at their home ground against Everton FC. Match kicked off at 19:45 sharp at the Molineux Stadium where the home team stepped in with 4-3-3 combination and the visiting team went for a defensive tactic with 4-2-3-1.  


With this dominating win Wolves are into the next round of the Carabao Cup. As the whole stadium were cheering for the home team, Marshall Muntesi came into rescue with his opening goal in the first half during the 29th minute by slotting in the rebound after Mark Travers had saved the left foot shot from Jhon Arias. Three minutes later Everton striker Thierno Barry was given a yellow card by the referee, after the 1st half time the score was 1-0.

As the second half commenced, Everton tried coming back in the game by swapping few of their players early. However, that didn’t serve their purpose in the game as the home team had other plans tonight. Wolves defender Santiago Bueno too received a yellow card during the 71st minute into the game.


In the last phase of the easy win game for the Wolves, their another striker Tolu Arokodare scored a fantastic goal to seal the victory for his team during the 87th minute. It was the final nail in the coffin for the visiting team. Two more yellow Cards were given by the referee, one for the Everton midfielder James Garner and the other one for Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes.

In terms of the match stats, both teams each tried 4 shots on target. Wolves had 53% ball possession of the match while the visiting team had 47%. Passing accuracy however was 83% for both the teams respectively. There was total 26 fouls and 4 yellow cards from both teams. All in all, it was a complete one-sided affair at the Molineux stadium for the home team.
