Paris Saint-Germain beat Bayern Munich 5–4 in the first leg at Parc des Princes in a match defined by attacking quality and defensive lapses.

The home side led 3–2 at the break after an open first half and extended that advantage to 5–2 early in the second period.

Bayern responded with two late goals to reduce the deficit and keep the tie in the balance ahead of the return leg in Germany.

Kane Opens the Scoring

Bayern took the lead in the 17th minute when Harry Kane converted from the penalty spot after Luis Díaz had been brought down by Willian Pacho during a quick counter-attack.

PSG equalised on 24 minutes as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia advanced into the box and curled a low finish into the far corner beyond Manuel Neuer.

The hosts went ahead in the 33rd minute when João Neves met Ousmane Dembélé’s delivery from a corner and directed a header into the right side of the net.

Bayern made it 2–2 before half-time, with Michael Olise given space outside the area to step forward and finish past Matvey Safonov.

PSG were awarded a penalty in first-half stoppage time following a VAR review for handball against Alphonso Davies.

Dembélé converted from the spot to give the home side a 3–2 lead at the interval.

PSG Take Control

PSG extended their advantage in the 56th minute when Achraf Hakimi’s cross from the right ran across the box and was finished by Kvaratskhelia.

Two minutes later, Dembélé added a fifth, receiving the ball inside the area and striking low through Dayot Upamecano and into the corner.

At 5–2, the game looked beyond Bayern.

However, the visitors responded quickly.

Bayern reduced the deficit in the 65th minute as Upamecano headed in from Joshua Kimmich’s free-kick.

They scored again three minutes later when Kane’s pass released Díaz, who controlled and finished into the right side of the net.

Second Leg Finely Poised

PSG managed the closing stages without conceding again to take a narrow advantage into the second leg.

Bayern will host the return fixture knowing a one-goal margin separates the sides.

With nine goals in the first leg, the tie remains one of the most open and dangerous quarter-finals in this season’s Champions League.
