Newcastle 2-3 Liverpool

Liverpool’s 16 year old Rio Ngumoha became the club’s youngest ever scorer with a stoppage time winner in a 3-2 win over Newcastle at St James’ Park. Ryan Gravenberch and Hugo Ekitike had put Liverpool ahead, while Bruno Guimaraes and William Osula equalised for a resilient 10 man Newcastle. Ngumoha, 16 years and 361 days, secured the victory late on, becoming the fourth youngest scorer in Premier League history.

West Ham 1-5 Chelsea

Chelsea crushed West Ham 5-1 at the London Stadium despite losing Cole Palmer to injury in the warm up. Lucas Paquetá’s early stunner put the hosts ahead, but Joao Pedro quickly equalised before goals from Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernández, Moisés Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah sealed a dominant win. Teenager Estevão Willian impressed on his debut with an assist, while West Ham’s only joy was a Niclas Füllkrug finish ruled out by VAR. Boos and walkouts followed as Chelsea claimed their first victory of the season.

Arsenal 5-0 Wolves

Arsenal thrashed Leeds 5-0 with their new striker Viktor Gyökeres scoring twice in his first home game for the club. Jurrien Timber headed the opener and set up Bukayo Saka, who struck again before limping off injured. Gyökeres added a fine solo effort, Timber netted his second from another corner, and 15 year old debutant Max Dowman won a late penalty that Gyökeres converted. New £60m signing Eberechi Eze was unveiled pre match to a jubilant Emirates crowd.

Man City 0-2 Tottenham

Tottenham beat Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad for a second straight season, making it back-to-back wins under Thomas Frank. Brennan Johnson’s strike, awarded after VAR review, and Joao Palhinha’s finish punished City errors, while Guglielmo Vicario denied Omar Marmoush and ErlingHaaland as Spurs held firm for another clean sheet.

Fulham 1-1 Man United

Manchester United were held 1-1 at Fulham after Bruno Fernandes missed a first half penalty. Leny Yoro’s deflected header, called as an own goal off Rodrigo Muniz, put United ahead, but substitute Emile Smith Rowe struck late to earn Fulham a point. Both sides remain winless this season.

Everton 2-0 Brighton

Everton opened their new Hill Dickinson Stadium with a 2-0 win over Brighton. Jack Grealish, on his first start since joining on loan, set up Iliman Ndiaye’s opener and James Garner’s long range strike. Brighton missed big chances, including Danny Welbeck’s saved penalty, as Jordan Pickford preserved Everton’s first victory of the season.

Crystal Palace 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 at Selhurst Park. Ismaila Sarr fired Palace ahead before Marc Guehi hit the post. Callum Hudson-Odoi equalised with Forest’s first shot on target, while Igor Jesus and Omari Hutchinson went close to a late winner for the visitors in added time.

Brentford 1-0 Aston Villa

Dango Ouattara scored on his debut to give Brentford a 1-0 win over Aston Villa, their first league victory of the season. The £42.5m signing finished calmly after Emiliano Martinez blocked his initial effort. Villa improved after the break but were denied by keeper Caoimhin Kelleher, while a Mikkel Damsgaard strike was ruled out by VAR.

Burnley 2-0 Sunderland

Burnley earned their first Premier League points with a 2-0 win over fellow newcomers Sunderland at Turf Moor. Josh Cullen curled in the opener just after half time before setting up Jaidon Anthony to seal the victory late on. Sunderland wasted first half chances, while a Lyle Foster strike was ruled out for a foul.

Bournemouth 1-0 Wolves

Bournemouth claimed their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Wolves, thanks to Marcus Tavernier’s deflected strike. Wolves’ hopes faded after Toti Gomes was sent off early in the second half, and despite Jose Sá’s saves, the Cherries held on comfortably for the points.
