Liverpool 2-1 Everton

Liverpool made it five wins from five in their Premier League title defence with a 2-1 victory over Merseyside rivals Everton at Anfield. Ryan Gravenberch opened the scoring after 10 minutes from Mohamed Salah’s pass, before setting up Hugo Ekitike for the second on 29 minutes. Everton improved after the break and pulled one back when Iliman Ndiaye set up Idrissa Gueye to fire past Alisson, but Arne Slot’s side held on for the three points.


Arsenal 1-1 Man City

Arsenal salvaged a late point against Manchester City as substitute Gabriel Martinelli struck in stoppage time. ErlingHaaland had given City a ninth minute lead on the counterattack. Saka and Eze were introduced at half time, which made Pep Guardiola switch to a back five to protect the advantage. But Gabriel Martinelli raced onto Eberechi Eze’s pass in injury time, and coolly lifted the ball over Gianluigi Donnarumma to spark wild celebrations at the Emirates.


Man United 2-1 Chelsea

Manchester United beat Chelsea 2-1 in a chaotic clash at Old Trafford. After Robert Sanchez was sent off in the fifth minute for fouling Bryan Mbeumo. Bruno Fernandes put United ahead before Casemiro doubled their lead. Casemiro was then given a second yellow card for a clumsy foul just before half time. Chelsea was then forced into three early changes including injured Cole Palmer, the blues pulled one back through Trevor Chalobah’s late header, but United held on for a vital win.


Brighton 2-2 Tottenham

Tottenham battled back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Brighton. Yankuba Minteh and Yasin Ayari put the visitors ahead inside half an hour, but Richarlison pulled one back before the break. Spurs pressed hard in the second half, missing chances through Richarlison and Xavi Simons, before Jan Paul van Hecke’s own goal from a Mohammed Kudus cross earned them a late equaliser. Brighton held firm as Spurs chased a winner.


Fulham 3-1 Brentford


Fulham came from behind to beat Brentford 3-1, with Alex Iwobi starring with a goal and an assist. Mikkel Damsgaardpunished a defensive error to put the Bees ahead, but Iwobiequalised before setting up Harry Wilson for a quick fire second. After the break, Ethan Pinnock’s own goal from Ryan Sessegnon’s cross ended hope of a Brentford leveller as Fulham secured the three points.

Wolves 1-3 Leeds

Leeds secured a 3-1 win at Wolves to claim their first Premier League away victory of the season. Ladislav Krejci struck first for the hosts, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header and Anton Stach’s stunning free kick quickly swung the game in Leeds’ favour. Noah Okafor then added a third before halftime. Wolves rarely threatened after the break, with Karl Darlow tipping over a Munetsi header their only real chancein the second half.

West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace

Palace remain unbeaten as they beat their London rivals. Jean-Philippe Mateta put Palace ahead with a rebound after Marc Guehi’s header hit the crossbar. Jarrod Bowen equalised early in the second half with a header from a corner. Shortly after,Tyrick Mitchell netted the winner with a superb volley with 20 minutes to go. The result intensified pressure on Graham Potter amid ongoing fan protests, as the West Ham boss has won only six of 23 league games.

Burnley 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest remain winless under Ange Postecoglouafter a 1-1 draw at Burnley. Neco Williams gave Forest an early lead with a powerful strike, but Arsenal loanee Oleksandr Zinchenko’s own goal allowed Burnley to equalise. Forest dominated much of the first half and had chances through Loum Tchaouna and Igor Jesus, while Burnley also threatened, with Matz Sels making key saves in the second half. Burnley will be the happier with the point.

Sunderland 1-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa are still searching for their first Premier League win after a 1-1 draw with 10-man Sunderland. Matty Cash put Villa ahead with a long range strike which was Villa’s first goal this season. But Sunderland, reduced to ten after Reinildo’s red card, battled back as Wilson Isidor equalisedwith a close range finish from Granit Xhaka’s header. Sunderland remain unbeaten in three games with eight points, while Villa stay in the relegation zone on three.

Bournemouth 0-0 Newcastle

Newcastle and Bournemouth played out a 0-0 draw at the Vitality Stadium. Tyler Adam’s had the only chance early on for the cherries as his shot was straight at Nick Pope. Jacob Murphy’s blocked effort for Newcastle was their only highlight as they continue to struggle going forward. A penalty appeal for Nick Woltemade was denied as he looked to be pulled down as Eddie Howe looked furious on the touchline. Nick Pope kept out a late free kick from substitute Justin Kluivert as both teams had to settle for a point, which was a repeat of last seasons result.
