Man City 3-0 Man United

The biggest game of the weekend saw the Manchester derby take place at the Etihad Stadium. Man City ran riot as they smashed their rivals 3-0 leaving Rubin Amorim under even more pressure.
City took the lead in the 18th minute as winger Jeremy Doku danced his way through the United defence to cut back a header for Phil Foden who calmly slotted in the opener.
Things got worse for United in the second half as Doku once again caused panic, slipping through Erling Haaland who chipped Bayindir to double their lead. The Norwegian was once again on the scoresheet to round things off, running from the halfway line to finish a third calmly into the bottom corner, which finished off United who have had an awful start to the season.
Arsenal 3-0 Nottingham Forest

Arsenal eased past Nottingham Forest in the Premier League opener this weekend with a double from Martin Zubimendi and another Victor Gyökeres goal getting them all three points.
Arsenal took the lead on the half-hour mark with an absolute rocket of a volley from Zubimendi, which got Arsenal on their way. The second came a minute into the second half as Eberechi Eze on his home debut set up Gyökeres for a tap-in at the back post. The third sealed it late on with 10 minutes to play as Zubimendi got his second, rising highest at the back post to nod in Arsenal’s third and his second, to round off an impressive afternoon for the Gunners.
Forest’s new boss Ange Postecoglou looks like he’s got a lot to work on as his side was dominated and never really got going.
Brentford 2-2 Chelsea

The west London derby ended all square as Brentford salvaged a last-minute goal to earn a point at home to their rivals.
Brentford took the lead 10 minutes before half time as Kevin Schade put through by Jordan Henderson showed composure to put the Bees in the lead. Chelsea reacted through the substitute of Cole Palmer just back from an injury soon after scoring smartly first onto a bouncing ball in the box. Chelsea then took the lead with 5 minutes to go as Moisés Caicedo smashed one into the top corner from the edge of the box, which looked to be the winner.
However with seconds to play Brentford got their well-earned point. A long throw was launched into the box which then bounced all the way to Fábio Carvalho at the back post to tap in past a stranded Sánchez in goal. A fair result in the end but very frustrating for Chelsea who let it slip so late on.
Burnley 0-1 Liverpool

The king of late goals showed us again exactly why they are champions. Burnley frustrated Liverpool all afternoon and restricted them to few chances. Dominik Szoboszlai and substitute Federico Chiesa came closest for the Reds. Burnley were reduced to ten men after Lesley Ugochukwu received a second yellow card for a challenge on Florian Wirtz. Burnley thought they had earned a point, but with seconds to go Jeremie Frimpong, just on as a sub, saw his cross blocked by the hand of substitute Hannibal, which gave Liverpool a last-minute penalty. Mo Salah stepped up and smashed it in to give Liverpool the three points, which makes it four wins from four for Arne Slot’s men.
West Ham 0-3 Tottenham

Spurs eased to a 3-0 win over London rivals West Ham to mount the pressure on their boss Graham Potter, who suffers yet another loss this season. Pape Sarr gave the away side the lead just after the break with a header as he was left unmarked in the box. Things got worse for the home side as Tomáš Souček was given a straight red card for a reckless challenge on João Palhinha. Shortly after, Lucas Bergvall headed home to double Spurs’ lead. West Ham’s misery was compounded when Van de Ven made it three on the hour mark to leave West Ham in the bottom three and send Spurs third.
Bournemouth 2-1 Brighton

Bournemouth made it three wins from four as they beat Brighton at home to mark their best start to a Premier League campaign. The hosts took the lead early on as Alex Scott’s brilliant strike found the back of the net. Brighton replied in the second half to level things up through Kaoru Mitoma. Bournemouth were awarded a penalty on the hour mark, which Semenyo converted to give the Cherries a well-deserved three points. Bournemouth head up into the top four while Brighton sit in thirteenth place.
Newcastle 1-0 Wolves

Newcastle claimed their first victory of the season as they beat Wolves at home with new signing Nick Woltemade scoring on his debut to hand the home side the three points. The German, who cost the Magpies £69m, gave them the lead early on. With just under half an hour played the striker rose highest in the box to nod home and send St James’ Park into raptures. Sandro Tonali hit the inside of the post just before half time. Wolves couldn’t find the equaliser in the second half, going close twice, and Newcastle were able to see it through. Wolves remain bottom of the table with four straight losses this season, while Newcastle head up to tenth.
Fulham 1-0 Leeds

A dramatic last-minute own goal gifted Fulham their first win this season. The first half was a tight encounter with very few chances. Things started to liven up in the second half as the best chance of the game fell to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who headed straight at Fulham’s Bernd Leno. The only goal of the game came in the 94th minute when an outswinging corner was turned into his own net bizarrely by Gudmundsson to the delight of the home fans. After feeling hard done by last week away at Stamford Bridge, Fulham will take this victory and run with it. As for Leeds, they sit just above the relegation zone in 16th place while Fulham move up to 11th.
Everton 0-0 Aston Villa

Everton and Villa played out a goalless draw which left the away side still without a goal this season. Everton went close a couple of times, with Emiliano Martínez pulling off a couple of great saves. Beto missed a massive chance late on as he miskicked an open goal after great work from Iliman Ndiaye. The away side failed to create much, with their best chance coming through a deflected strike from Emiliano Buendía. It’s been a worrying start to the season for Villa, who are looking for their first goal, while Everton sit in 6th place with two wins from their first four games.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Sunderland

A game that won’t live long in the memory of both sets of supporters. The first shot of the game came in the 49th minute when Mateta hit his shot straight at the Black Cats’ keeper. Palace’s new signing Yeremy Pino looked the most dangerous throughout, while a late chance from Daichi Kamada was denied by keeper Roefs to earn his side a vital point. This marks Crystal Palace’s third draw of the season, which leaves them in 9th, while Sunderland sit comfortably in 7th place after a good start to the season.
