Phil Foden and Savinho were on the scoresheet as Manchester City eased to a 2-0 win over Huddersfield, setting up a Carabao Cup fourth-round clash with Swansea.
As expected, Pep Guardiola made nine changes to his starting XI following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal. Ten Manchester City academy graduates featured in the squad, with teenager Divine Mukasa making his first senior appearance for the Cityzens.

Huddersfield also rotated heavily, making seven changes from the side that drew 0-0 at home to Burton on Saturday.
City dominated possession from the outset, holding 81% of the ball in the first half. Their patience eventually paid off when Phil Foden broke the deadlock with a brilliant low strike into the right-hand corner.
Huddersfield offered little going forward before the break, with Zepiqueno Redmond blasting their best chance over from the edge of the box.

After the restart, City maintained their control and doubled their lead when Savinho finished under the crossbar from a Foden assist.
Huddersfield almost grabbed a consolation late on, as Cameron Ashia’s audacious long-range effort struck the post. However, James Trafford ensured City kept a clean sheet and booked their place in the next round.
