Manchester City close the gap to six points in the Premier League title race as they ease past Chelsea FC to mount more pressure onto Arsenal FC.
Chelsea 0–3 Manchester City
(O’Reilly 51’, Guehi 57’, Doku 68’)
Manchester City dismantled Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as they piled more pressure on an already shaky Arsenal, showing their class as they beat Liam Rosenior’s side 3–0.
Pep Guardiola’s men brushed past the Blues with a dominant second-half display after a fairly even first 45 minutes.
City flew out of the blocks in the second period, and Nico O’Reilly scored again, following his brace in the Carabao Cup final, to give City the lead via a header.
Rayan Cherki provided the assist with a wonderful cross and produced an even better set-up moments later, with his delightful through ball allowing Marc Guéhi to score and add a second.
A mistake from Moisés Caicedo allowed Jérémy Doku in on goal just ten minutes later, and the Belgian slotted home to seal a comfortable 3–0 victory.
The Citizens move to within six points of the Gunners at the top of the Premier League table, with a game in hand, and face Arsenal next week in a potentially title-deciding clash.

Chelsea fought well in the opening stages but were eased aside in the second half as they fell to their fourth defeat in five league games and their third consecutive loss without scoring, a first since 1998.
The Blues remain sixth, four points off the Champions League places, as pressure mounts on Rosenior.
MATCH REPORT
The away side started the brighter of the two in the early stages, with Manchester City enjoying the majority of possession.
However, Guardiola’s men were sloppy in the opening 15 minutes, allowing Chelsea the better chances.
Cole Palmer had a near-post effort hit the side netting after skipping past Rodri, while Pedro Neto forced Gianluigi Donnarumma into a smart save.
Chelsea thought they had taken the lead just before the 20-minute mark.
Excellent play from João Pedro allowed him to slip in Marc Cucurella, who finished well but the goal was ruled out for offside.
City continued to struggle for rhythm in the first half, but grew into the game towards the latter stages.
Their best chance came through O’Reilly, who made a driving run into the box before setting up Bernardo Silva, whose effort was smothered by Robert Sánchez.
The first half fizzled out, with neither side creating many clear-cut chances.
Chelsea had their moments, while City were below their usual standards.
However, City came out with intensity in the second half.
Erling Haaland and Cherki both had early chances before the breakthrough arrived.

Cherki’s cross found O’Reilly at the back post, who headed home after losing his marker to make it 1–0.
City doubled their lead just six minutes later.
A short corner routine saw Cherki glide past midfield and thread a precise pass to Guéhi, who calmly finished into the far corner for his first Premier League goal for City.

Cherki now has 10 assists in the league this season, underlining his growing influence.
City remained in control and added a third shortly after.
A poor mistake from Caicedo allowed Doku to pounce, and the winger coolly slotted past Sánchez to effectively end the contest.
The game eventually opened up slightly, with Chelsea creating a few late chances.
Cucurella went close, while Palmer had opportunities against his former club, but the Blues could not find a breakthrough.
It ended in a comfortable 3–0 away win for Manchester City.
Despite chances to extend their lead, Guardiola’s side maintained control and now arguably hold momentum in the title race.

With a win over Arsenal next week combined with victory in their game in hand City could move to the top of the table.
As for Chelsea, they remain sixth and four points off fifth-placed Liverpool FC, with time running out in the race for Champions League football.
They face Manchester United next week in another crucial fixture.
